Sushidelivery.sg & Pizzadelivery.com.sg Review

16 October 2020 in EATS, SHOP, SINGAPORE

The 10.10 sales just happened (did you get anything?) and I scored some absolutely fantastic deals which I’m so happy about, now I’m just waiting for all my stuff to arrive. :) Since moving back to Singapore, I do so much shopping and ordering of daily life stuff online, it’s incredible how convenient and safe it is to do here, and I never take it for granted.

This year, I’ve been featuring quite a few food delivery posts here on the blog, because I have been doing more food delivery orders than usual, with the COVID-19 circumstances. I was recently introduced to two delivery businesses specializing in sushi and pizza (two of my favourite types of food) by BestinSingapore.com, so here’s my review after trying both!

If you haven’t already heard of them, the Best in Singapore team helps to find the best things in Singapore in all kinds of categories and then shares them across their website and social media channels. Sushi Delivery and Pizza Delivery were featured in BestinSingapore.com’s posts on the “5 Best Sushi Delivery in Singapore” and “13 Best Pizza Deliveries in Singapore”.

*UPDATE: Sushi Delivery and Pizza Delivery have ceased operations.

SUSHIDELIVERY.SG Review

Since this is a sushi delivery business, I had to order sushi of course. The site has a wide variety of sushi available, but I opted for two maki sushis – the Cream Cheese Mentaiko Salmon Aburi (8pcs) and the Champion Floss Maki (8pcs). I also ordered the takoyaki because everyone loves Japanese octopus balls, right? :)

I was happy with my experience, because everything I ordered was delicious! If I had to pick, my favourite item is the mentaiko cheese/salmon/unagi sushi. 😋 The sushi and ingredients were fresh, food quality was great and the food was all intact, neat and clean upon arrival, which is important to me when it comes to delivery services. However, two issues I have to bring up, my delivery order was 10 minutes late and the prices are a little pricey for delivery sushi.

For info: there is free delivery for orders over $60. For orders below that, there is a flat rate delivery fee of $5.90.

This site is great for the sushi it offers, when you have a sushi craving to fill and don’t have the time or energy to head out, but expect to pay a bit for it.

Rating: 4/5 🍣🍣🍣🍣

PIZZADELIVERY.COM.SG Review

For my pizza delivery order, I got two medium sized 9 inch pizzas (they have a 1 for 1 deal!) – the Hawaiian pizza and the beef salami pizza plus a side of fish fingers. The best item in my order was the yummy beef salami pizza. The other two items tasted good, but were of average quality.

I have some pros and cons from my experience. Pros: the ingredients on the pizza were fresh and the food tasted good. I appreciated the 1 for 1 deal for the pizzas and delivery was punctual, arriving within the hour of my chosen delivery slot. Cons: The crust of the pizza was a little hard and when the food arrived, it was lukewarm.

For info: there is free delivery for orders over $60. For orders below that, there is a flat rate delivery fee of $5.90.

Overall, this delivery site is convenient and dependable, but may not be my first choice for ordering pizza.

Rating: 3/5 🍕🍕🍕

Had a horrid experience with Sushi Delivery.

Ordered the food two days in advance, it did not reached at the specified time slot and I could not get hold of anyone to ask about the status of the delivery and order despite calling and texting their WhatsApp number several times. The order finally arrived 1.5hours late which I have to reject as the freshness of the sushi is possibly dubious. Emailed them for a refund and to no surprise, there’s not a single reply again.

Will strong discourage anyone to order from them unless you want to bear the anxiety of your guests being hungry while you frantically try to contact the seller that does not respond.

Hi Leia, thanks for sharing your feedback and I’m sorry to hear of your bad experience with Sushi Delivery! It’s really disappointing to hear that your experience was so different from mine.

I have taken a screenshot of your comment on this page and emailed it to the Sushi Delivery team and BestinSingapore.com. Hopefully they will follow up/address this matter soon.

☀️ A day in the life: out of office edition ☀️

I've been enjoying browsing "a day in the life" posts shared by others, so I thought I'll share one of my own. :) Here's a day I captured, when I was out of office a few weeks ago for a much needed break. 😌

🍳 Started the day at my neighbourhood Starbucks, eating a small breakfast and started on a bit of blogging again~

📚 Popped over to the bookstore @booksbeyond.borders to donate some books and browse more books & wonderful things!

🍽 📽Off to a buffet lunch! Stuffed myself happy, then dashed to the cinema @theprojectorsg to catch a screening of Angelina Jolie's <Maria>

🍵 Walked over to @baristartcoffee_sg inside another bookstore @bookxcess and had grand plans to read my book, but ended up contemplating my career instead. 😆

That's a day in my life (OOO edition), how do you spend yours?

Before we dive head first into 2025, my sister @wording_art and I spent a spontaneous few days in our (other) favourite city: Hong Kong! 🌟

After the craziness of 2024, this sister trip felt like a much needed reset. Thanks HK, for letting us live our best lives. 😄✨️

Some snapshots here, more to come~

2024 has been full of surprises so far! Mostly in great ways though. 😄 This year has also been one of my busiest ones in recent memory. ☁️

In other news, my blog citygirlcitystories.com that I started when I graduated from university turns 10 years old next week! 🥳 Ahh, where does the time go... 😶‍🌫️ Life's demands meant that I took an unexpected hiatus from my blog, but if you'll kindly hope with me, perhaps I could return to it soon! 🍀

The first half of 2024 was tiring... in more ways The first half of 2024 was tiring... in more ways than one. Despite that, I had a hard stop in May to take time off, flew across the world and landed in London, a city that has been on my travel list for ages!! 🇬🇧

A week full of (mostly) British summer weather, incredible art and stunning museums, charming bookshops, the most beautiful libraries, scones and tea, I really enjoyed London! 😊💛

I hope to catch up with Instagram/blogging soon, which I completely fell off from, and there's stuff from Singapore/Hong Kong/London I'd love to share, but for now, here's two candid photos captured by @wording_art reflecting my happiness on this trip. :)

🌼 Looks like I'm doing a weird dance but was actually avoiding rain puddles at Kenwood House, one of my favourite places I visited!

🖼 Visited several of London's wonderful museums and this was at the National Portrait Gallery, where I got to see the famed "Portrait of Mai (Omai)" in person! 🤩 I was following this acquisition story in the news and was especially delighted when I heard that it was on display during my trip. :)

More soon and here's to the second half of 2024! ✨️🤞

If you'd like to, I'd be delighted if you check out my review on citygirlcitystories.com As a bonus, I also have a Q&A with the author herself! 🤩

I'm actually a huge fan of the @girlintheyellowtaxinyc blog and Instagram, so I loved hearing from Deirdre about life in NYC and her experience being a native New Yorker. Do check out the full author interview on my blog! (link in bio) 🍎
