I’ve always found it pretty special to have something customised and was recently introduced to the very popular perfume creation brand Maison 21G, who kindly reached out with an opportunity to create a customised product of my own!

To start, I’d like to share that Maison 21G’s signature product is their custom perfume, but I’m not much of a perfume wearer, so I asked if I could customised a home scent instead, which is another one of their lovely products. The end result, as pictured above, is my bespoke Bergamot & Fig home scent! :) It’s fresh, fruity and makes my room smell like summer, I love it!

AI Personality Quiz

One of my favourite aspects of the Maison 21G experience is the fun AI personality quiz available on their website, which you can take and let your result show some recommended scents and scent combinations that will suit your personality and the occasions where you would like to wear your scent! Sharing some of my results from the quiz below. :)

Even though I ended up getting a home scent, it was still fun and useful to check out the suggestions for my personality type and I was very interested in reading the provided info about the different scents available on their scent library.

Customised Home Scent

For the home scents, same as the perfumes, they are customisable and you can select 1 or 2 ingredients to be part of your scent, which Maison 21G’s team of scent designers will mix and create for you! Maison 21G also shared with me that their home scents are vegan and contain no phthalates, preservatives, CMR, NGO or parabens and are suitable for use around children and pets.

Personally, I decided to customise and order my scent entirely online, so I did not go down to their boutiques to smell the scents in person. I preferred to do it this way due to my hectic work schedule and because I know that I will never make up my mind if presented with all the wonderful scents in front of me! Please note that if you prefer, you can definitely visit their retail boutiques to smell and customise your scent in person, or even sign up for a perfume creation workshop to tailor-make and mix your scent yourself with guidance from their perfumiers.

My Experience

After looking at the recommendations from the quiz results, going through the scent library and considering the benefits of each scents and my personal preference (I usually prefer something fruity), I decided to pick 2 ingredients and ordered my bergamot and fig home scent!

The home scent comes in a 30ml bottle and costs S$75. It arrived after 2 days and delivery is free within Singapore! They do ship overseas as well, so do check their site to see if it ships to your country and the respective shipping fees. When the package arrived, I realized that the box and the cards within were all scented, and this attention to detail was an added bonus to the whole experience. :)

As for the home scent itself, I’m really happy with it so far, and I like to spritz it 1 to 2 times around the room for a refreshing way to start the day (especially with all the time we spend at home these days!). The scent lasts till late evening or night, from my experience.
