Hello 2017! Somehow it is already the middle of January, but I still wanted to wish you a happy new year anyway! :) Here’s to 2017, let’s see what it brings us! I came back from my holiday in my other sunny city, Singapore, and as is typical of the fast paced Hong Kong life, I landed on Hong Kong soil and had to hit the ground running.
Speaking of that, my final semester of postgrad life just started and I am this much closer to graduation! I. Can’t. Wait! For now though, I wanted to share some moments from my trip in this Singapore diary. I spent Christmas and welcomed the new year there and to sum it all up: the theme of this trip was friends and family, museums and food. So much good food! (I actually ate so much and took so many snapshots of food that I’m going to be sharing them all in a Singapore food diary coming soon!)
Let’s start with the cutest Christmas decorations I spotted in Orchard Road. Have I been away too long or did Singapore look really pretty for Christmas 2016? You tell me. But I was just endlessly amazed by the variety of Christmas decor!
One of the cool places I checked out, which my mom introduced me to, was this floating restaurant called Stewords Riverboat. The restaurant is inside this replica of a steamboat and it’s non-motorized, so it doesn’t actually run, which I was actually hoping it would haha! Still a fun experience though!
Spontaneous visit to the National Museum of Singapore (it’s a history museum) with an old friend. I haven’t been to this museum in years! There were some very interesting exhibits and it’s definitely worth a visit!
I was at the ArtScience Museum to check out the M.C. Escher exhibition, Journey to Infinity: Escher’s World of Wonder, which I enjoyed so much! It’s ongoing till late February, if you’re interested.
I will wrap up here for now, but I still have stuff to share from Singapore. :) Coming up next is Chinese New Year snapshots from Hong Kong! Woohoo for the upcoming CNY holidays!
